Weavings & Embroidery….

Handmade cloth tells a story. Wool and cotton come together to create a unique folk design and pattern. Many of the pieces are made with yarn from locally raised and sustainable wool; including Romney, Shetland, Tunis and Finnsheep. Creations are infused with fresh flowers from the garden and naturally dyed yarns when available.

Embroidered floral sweaters are created with wool on vintage/repurposed clothes to adorn the wardrobe in beauty and whimsy. Wool flowers and woodland themes weave through to give new life and flower flare.

Weaving in the whisper of the wind, shimmering luminescence of the moon, song of the trees, dance of the flower and bee - I spend many quiet hours at the loom with the warp and weft overlooking a flowing river at the forest's edge, surrounded by my beloved gardens. As the fiber moves through my hands, each little thread and stitch is carefully woven. I like to imagine I am working in bits and pieces of the land into my work. Deep connection and belonging. A story of the Earth.

Fiber spinning…

I often sit at the wheel spinning a wool into thread. Creating form out of raw fiber with the circular, meditative rhythm. A woolen yarn to weave on the loom. Creating a new story with fiber and a sense of belonging with the land. Finding magic in the everyday.

Many of my handmade cloth will contain handspun yarn woven in.

As my hands create with fiber, my heart is also mending little threads within. Every path the fiber has gone through from animal, plant, sun, rain, soil, love and care influences it's creation. Through the hands of many into the beauty of what it has become today.

Embroidered sweaters…

I am combining my love for textiles, vintage/repurposed clothes, wool, flowers and embroidery. Warmth, beauty, creating and fiber play such an important role in my life. It has been a thread of love for me throughout. Keeping my hands busy and mind calm and connected as I create.

Adding a bit of wool and flower flare to repurposed sweaters gives new life and adornment. It adds a pop of color and ties in my love for nature and flowers. Pure floral joy.

Flowers evoke such a happy place in my heart. I have used them in many ways over the years through gardening, herbal medicines, art, food for the bees, & weaving inspiration. I love the search for vintage sweaters to adorn with their colors, different shapes and sizes. As the wool on my needle weaves in and out to create a loop a flower is created. Like a little garden. A warm, floral cardigan to brighten up and bring comfort to the wardrobe.

The earth laughs in flowers” Ralph Waldo Emerson
